Oleochemical

Simply stated, oleochemicals are chemicals derived from biological (animal and plant sources) oils and fats. Since 1926, ACI has represented the U.S. manufacturers of oleochemicals.  ACI currently manages many diverse oleochemical programs that address the safety of oleochemicals in various products through science-based approaches, and that promote the free market for oleochemicals and their derivatives. Some of our most far-reaching program issues include those surrounding Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), biodiesel, and ingredient safety.
